Few cruising grounds reward a yacht like the Aegean. The distances between islands are short, the anchorages deep and clear, and every landfall changes the scenery — whitewashed hill towns off one bow, pine and bare rock off the other. Boarding is usually from the Athenian Riviera or from Mykonos, and from either the islands open up in every direction.
Summer brings the meltemi, the north wind that can blow hard for days at a time. A good captain simply reads it and moves you to the sheltered side of an island — one of several reasons local crew knowledge matters more here than a fixed itinerary. When is the best time to charter in the Greek Isles?
May to October. The meltemi blows hardest through July and August, which is exactly when the islands are busiest; late May, June and September give you calmer water and emptier anchorages with the same temperatures.

How much does a charter in the Greek Isles cost?
Rates in the Greek Isles start from €285,000 per week and €15,000 per day. One yacht is quoted on request. A weekly fee covers the yacht and her crew; fuel, berthing, food and drink are billed separately, usually through an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) of around 30% of the fee. Day rates work differently: fuel and berthing for the agreed route are normally inside the price, with catering and drinks quoted on top.

How do I book a charter in the Greek Isles?
Send us your dates, your party size and a rough idea of the route. A broker replies with availability, a firm quote and a draft itinerary. Weekly charters are contracted on the standard MYBA agreement, with a deposit on signature and a preference sheet — food, drink, allergies, celebrations — before you board.
